|“||At first, It was their narrow superstitions that led me being driven out, but as I grew and continued to perform the same mystic arts that what made them to fear me, I've had a realization: They lack the mettle to understand the scope beyond normalcy.||”|

The Dread Baron (Pirate moniker)
Black Caesar (Pirate alias)
Samedi is a recurring antagonist featured in Riftwalkers, acting as the second-in-command to Solomon. The most esoteric and magically-gifted among the Inquisitors, Samedi gives out information about the expanding world of magic and its practitioners.
In his formative years during the 19th century before joining the organization, he was a pirate captain in command of his own crew of mages, who were taken in by him as they have faced the same treatment as him. His cruel and destructive acts of piracy towards the human and magical communities in the Carribean earned him the moniker "Dread Baron".
While working as one of Pantheon's Inquisitors and its second-in-command, Samedi dons a faded navy-blue hooded robe that split into two tails, accentuated with lines of sea green and gold in certain sections. The robe is closed up by a series of bronze buttons distinctively shaped like skulls. His lower attire consists of dark trousers and a pair of boots.
A leather sash is worn around the waist where a holster and a scabbard are attached for the wizard to hold his weapons when not in use.
|“||Being normal means being afraid of things one cannot understand, let alone use it.||”|
Sophisticated and generally apathetic, Samedi commits his loyalty to Pantheon in a calm and grim disposition. He is the type of person who takes matters seriously, detailing the best possible outcomes and ignoring anything unnecessary or distracting to his plans. The pirate wizard is quite critical of the personal desires and agendas of his fellow Inquisitors, pointing out that they might ditch the mission to proceed with their own plans. His calm disposition makes him at odds with the more aggressive Inquisitors, such as Geb-Ra—who secretly uses Pantheon's resources for his self-servings plans of conquering the sun for his troll brethren—and Vekhtor—who is hellbent on taking revenge on his home planet.
Outside of his personal matters towards the organization, the wizard has shown great disdain towards non-magical beings and beings born from magic beings, such as the case with his sardonic remark towards Jamie in regards of him being the son of a powerful witch; one who is well-versed with Shadow Magic. He revels in subdued sadism behind his cold facade whenever he overpowers non-magical beings into submission.
