The Universe Explained[]
The story plays off in a world with short-bodied, wolf-like creatures. They're much like humans and are intelligent, capable of speech, and possess an array of emotions. Two subspecies are mentioned; the Light and Shadow Beasts.
Light Beasts typically have a bright color scheme. They can sport tan or golden fur and have brown or blue eyes. They tend to have names that mean "good" things, such as light/spirit/life/etc. They're considered the "good guys".
Shadow Beasts are the complete opposite and have a shadowy appearance. They can have black, gray, or dark brown fur, and there're seemingly no eyeballs in their sockets, leaving their eyes to look like black, bottomless pits. They have names that mean "bad" things, like darkness/death/depression/etc. As can be expected, they're considered the "bad guys".
