He is the youngest out of all his siblings (younger than Basil by a few minutes and Pallas was born a singleton) and a former prisoner of the Tyrion Cabal. He is also a close friend of Coriander, a winged robot cat who helped him escape the cabal. He was made on March 12, 2021.

Under construction and currently in process of a redesign.

Biography/Backstory

Background/The World of Coryn

Basil and Coryn (along with Pallas) were test subjects grown in a lab by the Tyrion Cabal. A malfunction in the project caused Coryn to be completely blind. The lead manager of the project, Dean, wasn't happy with the poor treatment of the children and decided to flee the underground organization and took the children along with him, raising them as his own.

Personality

Before his abduction, Coryn was rather quiet and was mostly seen with his mother while his siblings kept fighting over who their father liked the most. When interacting with his siblings or father, he showed a slightly more playful side, but wasn't exactly social. He and Basil often played around and occasionally he played with Pallas.

After his abduction, he was quite paranoid and often had nightmares involving his suffering with Mori. Despite this, he managed to toughen up and often defied rules. He is quite antisocial and would only interact with friends and family. His personality in general is quite similar to his mother's- sensitive and inquisitive. He is also rather timid and skittish.

Appearance

Coryn is a unusually small, white and orange spherical robot with central heterochromia that is mostly blue with orange around his pupil. His markings are orange and has an antenna placed on the left side of his back. He has a spot on the right of his face like his mother.

His back has his name printed on, along with the Aperture Laboratories logo. He looks very similar to his father shape-wise, but color (and personality)-wise, he is very similar to his mother. Coryn also has a large scar across his face that is running diagonal from the left of his face.

Development/Behind The Scenes

Around May of 2020, Pallas was created along with a little brother named Hermes (he wasn't named after the god, he was named after Mimosa N's cat), which in around October of 2020, his name was changed to Bimbo. In late November of 2020, he was turned into a cat and given to a family member, due to him looking like someone else's OC. Pallas was changed to be an only child with toy cat/imaginary friend named Max.

However, that would change during March 12, 2021, where Mimosa N created Coryn as Pallas's little brother.

Coryn was later added to a story Mimosa N was working on involving Mori, Orlando, Atlas, P-body, and Pallas. The story is where Orlando and Mori get angry at Atlas and P-body's relationship because they thought it was ridiculous that the robotic test subjects started developing human emotions, and GLaDOS let it slide.

Coryn got kidnapped by Orlando or Mori, depending on the version, and was sent to Mori's lab, where he had to help her take over the facility itself. He was there for a few years, but however, he managed to escape but got lost. Later, when Atlas and P-body were testing, P-body discovered the oracle turret, which told her vague phrases hinting about Coryn. Meanwhile, Coryn met Ken, the Blacksmithing Core who somewhat took a "father figure" role.

Mori manages to find this, but when she arrives to Ken's home, Atlas and P-body happen to be there and a fight breaks out. Orlando's role in this story later fades. Coryn later gets reunited with his family and the story ends. Mori gets killed by Atlas. This story was called The World of Coryn.

At one point, there was a sequel where Coryn is older and he gets a love interest who was a turret named Ia. Sometimer later, Mimosa N scrapped this arc and changed Ia to be a core and she and Coryn would simply be acquaintances.

Sometime in May, Mimosa N introduced new characters in the unnamed trilogy such as Rosalina, and the Chaos Core. In a version, Chaos was the main antagonist in the series. Mimosa N also added Basil to the mix, but he was stillborn and only existed for to make P-body depressed.

Sometime in June, Mimosa N decided that Ken was a caretaker for Esmerlina, and Coryn had be disguised in public so Mori or Chaos won't recognize him. Coryn was covered in Esmerlina's feathers and his face was covered with a mask. At this point he was given the alias "Envy". During this, The World of Coryn was changed to "Feather Head". But then Mimosa N added The Boss and changed some things like adding Coriander, changing Rosalina's role and adding her brother James. She also added Ken to the Outsiders instead of a lone core that does blacksmithing.

Coriander at the point was an AI possessing a cat corpse with corvine wings, and she could be summoned. Later, Mimosa N thought this idea was stupid and unfitting for the Portal universe so she changed Coriander to be a robotic feline and then added more robot cats.

Then, the Portal fanfiction was changed from [REDACTED], to unnamed, to Project Marigold. At one point Coryn was a member of the Outsiders but Mimosa N changed him to be a wanderer being guarded by his friend Coriander.

Trivia

  • Coryn was named after, and slightly based on the character from the Guardians of Ga'Hoole series.
    • the name itself is a variant of "Corinna", which means "maiden".[1]
      • it could also come from the Hebrew surname "Koren", which means "gleaming" or "bright".
  • Like Pallas, Coryn was loosely based on his creator's personality.
    • Coryn's personality was also loosely based on Kaitou from AzureHowl.
  • Coryn and Basil are fraternal twins; to simply put, they're not identical.
  • Coryn originally had a full name, which was Coryn Ellis Atlas.
  • When Coryn was created, he was originally blind. However, this idea was scrapped because a blind robot in Aperture Science, under the supervision of GLaDOS would not make sense.
